Con más de tres años de retraso se celebraron elecciones en Haití (Fotos)

Los haitianos fueron convocados a las urnas para unas elecciones legislativas que se celebran con más de tres años de retraso. EFE.

En estos comicios los votantes elegirán a 119 diputados de entre 1.622 candidatos y a 20 senadores de un total de 232 aspirantes.

De los casi 200 partidos políticos haitianos, el CEP autorizó solo a 120 a participar.





Las elecciones presidenciales están programadas para el 25 de octubre próximo, cuando también se celebrarán la segunda vuelta de las legislativas.

Los colegios electorales estarán abiertos entre las 06:00 hora local (10:00 GMT) hasta las cuatro de la tarde (20:00 GMT).

Pocas horas antes de la apertura de las votaciones, dirigentes políticos denunciaron serios problemas técnicos y logísticos.

El sábado por la noche la mayoría de los dirigentes de los partidos políticos que participan en los comicios, aún no habían recibido las credenciales para sus representantes en los colegios electorales.

“Con solo horas restantes antes de las elecciones, aún no hemos recibido las credenciales y la elección no es posible sin nuestros representantes en las oficinas de votación”, dijo hoy a Efe André Michel, una figura destacada de la organización Plataforma Justicia.
