BRITAIN-ZOO-ANIMALS

A silvery marmoset looks through a window to check for food at Whipsnade Zoo on January 8, 2013. The zoo is kicking off the New Year with its annual animal stocktake. Home to more than 2,500 animals, the compulsory count is required to have a zoo license. All of the information is logged into the International Species Information System, where it’s used to manage the international breeding programmes for endangered animals. AFP PHOTO / ADRIAN DENNIS
