(FILES) This image obtained from NASA 04 March 2002 shows the Mauna Kea (upper) and Mauna Loa (lower) volcanoes on Hawaii’s Big Island. In this true-color Modis image from February 28, 2002, a late winter snow has settled on the volcanoes’ flanks, creating large white circles in the north and central portions of the island. Studies on global change are regularly made above this volcano to measure the concentration of CO2 in the air. AFP PHOTO/ NASA
