Jerome Sessini, a French photographer of Magnum Photos on assignment for the De Standaard, won the Second Prize in the Spot News Category, Stories, of the 2015 World Press Photo contest with his series of pictures which includes this one of a protester calling for medical aid for a comrade shot dead in Kiev, taken February 20, 2014 and released by the World Press Photo on February 12, 2015.
