The Golden Bear for Best Film awarded to Iranian film director Jafar Panahi is placed for the media to take pictures during a news conference following the awards ceremony of the 65th Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin February 14, 2015. Banned Iranian director Jafar Panahi’s film “Taxi” about a taxi driver chauffeuring an odd assortment of people around Tehran won the Golden Bear for best film on Saturday at the Berlin International Film Festival. The apparently whimsical but ultimately profound look at life and filmmaking in Iran, shot from the interior of a taxi with the director at the wheel, was shown despite Tehran’s ban imposed on Panahi, who was not present for the awards ceremony.
