El ayuntamiento de Tel Aviv anunció este miércoles haber presentado una torre armada con piezas del juego Lego, de 36 metros de altura, con la que busca batir una plusmarca mundial que sea homologada por el libro Guinness de los récords.

Esta torre se construyó con piezas de Lego acopiadas durante un año gracias a los habitantes de la ciudad.

La campaña para la inscripción de la torre en el Guinness fue lanzada hace poco más de un año por los educadores de Omer Sayag, un niño que murió de cáncer con 8 años en 2014, quien precisamente construía torres de Lego mientras estuvo enfermo.

Constituida por más de un millón de piezas, la torre se exhibe durante cuatro días en la plaza Rabin, frente al imponente edificio de la municipalidad de la ciudad costera israelí.

El récord precedente de la torre de Lego más alta, según el Guinness, data de 2015 cuando la filial italiana de la empresa Lego construyó una de 35,05 metros de altura en ocasión de la Exposición Universal de Milán.

Un documento, integrado en particular por fotos tomadas desde un dron, será enviado al Guinness con el objetivo de que homologue la nueva plusmarca.
