Los cerezos de la capital de Estados Unidos, Washington DC han comenzado a florecer.

El Servicio de Parques Nacionales publicó el martes por la mañana que ahora se espera una floración máxima de jueves a domingo, reseña Telemundo.





La noticia llega después de que las flores tuvieron su fecha de floración máxima retrasada dos veces debido al clima frío.

El NPS dijo el domingo que el 20 por ciento de los cerezos de Yoshino estaban en plena floración y dio esa cifra nuevamente el martes. La floración máxima se define como cuando al menos el 70 por ciento de los árboles Yoshino alrededor del Tidal Basin están floreciendo.

Una vez que alcanzan la floración máxima, las flores pueden permanecer en los árboles de cuatro a 10 días, pero el NPS advierte que el período de floración de este año podría desaparecer debido a los fuertes vientos.

“Vigilando vientos racheados mañana, ¡enemigo de las flores!” la agencia twitteó.
