The President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, held a conversation with the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, about the need for the controlled opening of the Colombian-Venezuelan border.

Guaidó assured that during the telephone meeting they also highlighted the need to re-establish the consular services of Colombia in Venezuela, based on the Vienna Convention.
“We are very grateful to the government of Colombia for opening the border on June 1st. These gestures protect the most vulnerable,” he said through his Twitter account.
The national president assured that the opening of the borders will achieve great benefits for both nations and the return of democracy to Venezuela.
I have spoken with President Duque about the need for the controlled opening of the border and the reestablishment of Colombian consular services in Venezuela, based on the Vienna convention.
On his part, President Iván Duque assured that the opening of the Venezuelan border with Colombia is the product of the pressure that has been made from different political sectors, as well as through the diplomatic siege.
He recognized the effort that the Presidency in Charge and the Legitimate Government have made to pressure and force the opening of the Venezuelan border, which legally allows Venezuelans access to goods and services without putting their lives at risk.
