Cristianos celebran en todo el mundo el Domingo de Ramos (fotos)

Los cristianos celebran en todo el mundo el Domingo de Ramos, en la que se recuerda la entrada de Jesucristo a Jerusalén. Después de esta fecha, da inicio a la Semana Santa.

El papa Francisco afirmó hoy que Jesús está presente en aquellos que sufren por “un trabajo esclavo” por “la guerra y el terrorismo, por culpa de los intereses que mueven las armas y dañan con ellas”, y en aquellos que ven pisoteada su “dignidad” y son “descartados”.





En estos términos se expresó hoy el papa durante la homilía que pronunció en la Plaza de San Pedro del Vaticano este Domingo de Ramos, una celebración con la que inició los ritos de la Semana Santa.

Durante la homilía, Francisco recordó “el entusiasmo de los discípulos” que acompañaron a Jesús en su entrada en Jerusalén, una alegría que contagió a los “muchachos y jóvenes de la ciudad” que no dudaron en unirse “al cortejo con sus gritos”.

Pero al mismo tiempo, también rememoró que esa celebración sucedió previamente a la Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección de Jesús de Nazaret.

Subrayó que Jesús no era “un iluso que siembra falsas ilusiones, un profeta ‘new age’, un vendedor de humo, todo lo contrario: es un Mesías bien definido, con la fisonomía concreta del siervo, el siervo de Dios y del hombre que va a la pasión”.

Y lamentó el sufrimiento posterior que padeció, con “calumnias, ultrajes, engaños, traiciones, abandono, juicio inicuo, golpes, azotes, corona de espinas…” hasta el vía crucis y la final crucifixión.

La celebración litúrgica comenzó en torno a las 10.00 horas locales (9.00 GMT) cuando Jorge Bergoglio llegó a la plaza vaticana a pie y se acercó hasta el obelisco central para ser testigo de la procesión de las palmas y las ramas de olivo, e impartir su bendición.

Posteriormente, el pontífice caminó portando una palma en procesión hasta el altar ubicado ante la fachada principal de la Basílica de San Pedro, donde presidió la celebración de la Santa Misa de la Pasión del Señor.

De forma paralela, el papa también quiso hacer mención especial a la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud que se celebrará en Panamá en 2019.

De hecho, al término de esta misa en la plaza de San Pedro del Vaticano, los jóvenes de Cracovia darán entrega de la Cruz Peregrina a los de Panamá para que estos la porten rumbo a la JMJ que tendrá lugar en ese país latinoamericano dentro de dos años.

“Esta plaza vivirá dentro de poco un momento intenso, de horizontes abiertos, cuando los jóvenes de Cracovia entreguen la Cruz a los jóvenes de Panamá”, dijo Francisco.

La XXXII Jornada Mundial de la Juventud que se celebra hoy tendrá lugar este año a nivel diocesano.
