Decenas de miles de independentistas concentrados este viernes cerca del Parlamento de Cataluña, en Barcelona, recibieron con un estallido de júbilo la declaración de independencia del parlamento de esta región del resto de España, constató la AFP.
La sesión parlamentaria fue retransmitida en directo en pantallas gigantes, en dos amplias vías repletas de personas en las afueras del parque de la Ciudadela, en el centro de la capital catalana.
Los manifestantes lanzaron hurras, aplausos y gritos de “independencia”, justo en el momento en que la mayoría separatista del parlamento catalán aprobó la resolución que declaró “la República catalana, como Estado independiente y soberano”.
Descorchando botellas de cava y con los brazos entrelazados, los manifestantes entonaron con fervor el himno de Cataluña, muchos con el puño en alto.
“Nos ha costado tanto llegar a este momento”, dijo Judith Rodríguez, una trabajadora social de 38 años con lágrimas en los ojos.
“Estoy muy emocionada, muy contenta, de por fin ir hacia adelante y construir una república, un país nuevo, a partir de cero”.
Vestida con una camiseta que dice “fem pais” (hacemos país, en catalán), dijo no temer la aplicación del artículo 155 por parte del gobierno central de Mariano Rajoy, para poner a Cataluña bajo tutela de Madrid.
El marido de Judith, José Ligero, gestor inmobiliario de 43 años, afirmó: “Entiendo que hemos ido por un camino que no está bien visto por otras partes del mundo, pero no tuvimos elección. Esto no lo han llevado los políticos, esto salió de la calle”.
